Villa remain admirers of the Rangers midfielder and are tracking his situation, TEAMtalk (Fraser Fletcher) reported on October 5th, with eight clubs said to be interested and Belgian sources expecting a move in January or next summer. No approach or offer from Villa has been reported. Hull City had a verbal offer of £12m rejected, according to the same report. Raskin, 25, is under contract at Ibrox until June 2028 after impressing for Belgium at the World Cup; Rangers are under no pressure to sell. CaughtOffside, relaying TEAMtalk the same day, rated Villa favourites in its own assessment.
How the Story Moved
| Date | What changed | |
|---|---|---|
| July 20th | Tracked | Rumor opened on the board at 11% (linked) — source: GlasgowWorld / Rangers News. Villa are monitoring the 25-year-old Belgium midfielder as Rangers move closer to cashing in, with Manchester United tracking him on the same terms and interest also reported from Italy and Germany. Rangers signed Raskin from Standard Liege in 2023 and are holding out for a fee comfortably above the £20m widely quoted, with some reporting an asking price nearer £25m; offers are said to be closing on that valuation. Raskin is described as unwilling to move somewhere he would start on the bench, a live consideration at Villa Park now that Johan Manzambi and João Gomes occupy the rebuilt pivot. |
