Abraham limped off after 54 minutes of the friendly at Borussia-Park on August 15th, his first extended run-out of the summer, which complicates any late sale. No reporting has attached a club or an offer to him since Matt Maher's August 10th line. Matt Maher reported in the Express & Star on August 10th that Villa remain prepared to listen to offers for Abraham, and that another striker will be sought if he goes. He first reported that willingness on August 4th, six months after the striker rejoined permanently from Beşiktaş. BirminghamLive had written on July 30th that if a suitable offer arrives there is every chance it will be accepted, with Unai Emery open to a different dynamic behind Ollie Watkins, and placed Abraham among a small group whose sales would raise money without weakening the first-choice XI.
